NASHDALE LANE wines
It’s easy as a local to be so ‘busy’ doing stuff… really important stuff of course! to forget to actually get out and try new experiences. Thank goodness for new acquaintances and friendships to get us to new venues - new at least to us!
So, to Nashdale Lane Wines on a cool Orange winter Sunday, where we were met with some brilliant wines, great hospitality [thanks Serena], yet more new friends and a warm fire. Two and a half hours later we got a lift home - no chance of driving - to retrieve the car the next day. Do yourself a favour and don’t leave it long as we did to get there… Superb!
The vision for the Nashdale Lane Wines brand began in 2001 and after a lot of research, hard work and planning (along with luck in finding the most idyllic vineyard site in Orange, NSW) it was realised.
Husband and wife team, Nick and Tanya Segger are hands-on and passionate about respecting the land - the vineyard, they call home along with their two children Dominic and Grace.
As a proudly all Australian family owned and run business, maintaining the highest possible standards in all aspects of the business through ethical, thoughtful practices is at the core of Nashdale Lane Wines (and equally is a vital example to set for the next generation).
Nashdale Lane vineyard is situated in the highlands of Orange on 60 acres of prime wine growing land at the foot of Mount Canobolas. The iconic Mount (as the locals call it), is an extinct volcano responsible for the fertile, basalt-rich soil that enables the vineyard to produce its premium, delicate, cool climate wines.
Nashdale Lane grows and produces a wide range of quality varietals including; Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Shiraz as well as quality blends under 'the social' label including a Rose and unique white field blend called 'Blanc' (Arneis + Riesling + Pinot Gris).
Situated at close to 900m above sea level, enjoying pure, clean mountain air and sweeping country vistas the vineyard is both productive and stunning. Take the Cargo Road and turn right at the Nashdale Public School.
